Ghagra choli dance party dresses

Whereas in the recent past, dresses and costumes worn for dance parties used to be only long dresses made of silk with a fancy blouse piece with or without long sleeves, the gagra choli is beginning to make inroads into dance clubs throughout the world. Disco dance clubs are seeing women wearing gagra cholis because some of these dresses have small mirrors stitched on to them and these tiny mirrors reflect the light all over the dance floor, creating a nice nightly effect.

Such ghagra choli dance dresses are worn by ladies in their twenties all the way to older women. Certainly Indian dance parties celebrating navratri functions depicting classical daandia raas dances behoove women to wear these costumes.

The conversion that women wearing ghagra choli to dance parties is that they cannot wear the traditional dance shoes that go so well with western attire; one will have to settle for flat bottomed shoes because that is the matching outfit with these.

It is recommended that while considering these for dance party occasions, the choli should be made backless with crisscrossing lace and the sleeves be made to fit up below the elbow, as this adds class to the costume. In wearing these it is not the amount of skin that is revealed that is important, rather the amount that is not. The perking of one’s imagination is what is the goal of this attire, not the giving away of all the details!
